How It Works

Participating employers make contributions for each participant according to their collective bargaining or special agreement.  These contributions are either an hourly or a flat monthly rate.

Benefits

In a nutshell, the Legal Plan:

  • Pays a portion of your legal fees
  • Connects you with participating attorneys for advice
  • Negotiates with participating attorneys to provide legal services at a reduced rate

Effective date of service October 1, 2019, Legal Plan benefits are based on an hourly rate of $200.  Should you choose an attorney (participating or non-participating) that charges above $200 per hour, you are responsible for all of the amount in excess of $200 per hour.

 Plan A  Plan B
 Pays $192.50 of $200/hour  Pays $147.50 of $200/hour
Annual maximum of $9,000  Annual maximum of $6,000
 Maximum benefit per case of
 $12,000
Maximum benefit per case of $9,600

While the legal benefits are broad in coverage, the Plan does not pay for all expenses that may be incurred with a legal matter .  Please review the Summary Plan Description for a detailed explanation of your benefits.  Charges exceeding the Plan's benefits are your responsibility, as are charges for legal services not covered by the Plan.
