Retiree turns 65
A retiree
and spouse participating in the retiree health & welfare plan will automatically
be moved to a Medicare Eligible retiree health & welfare plan when he
or she turns 65. The enrollment change is effective the first day of
the month of the 65th birthday.
If you are having the monthly premium
withheld from your monthly pension benefit check, the new premium will
automatically be withheld. If you are self-paying, please submit
the new premium amount.
Be sure you enroll
in Medicare when you are eligible to participate. The health
plan will calculate your benefits based on the amount Medicare would
have paid for the procedures whether or not you actually enroll in
Medicare.
Participant turns 70 ½
Your pension benefit payments must commence by
April 1 of the calendar year following the year in which the you reach
age 70 ½.
