Don’t Let Allergies Slow You Down
Spring is beautiful—but for many people, it also means allergy season. Knowing what to watch for can help you feel better, faster.
■ Seasonal allergies can bring sneezing, sinus pressure, congestion, itchy eyes, and cough. Shower after being outdoors, keep windows closed on high-pollen days, and consider antihistamines or nasal sprays to relieve symptoms.
■ Skin reactions like itching, redness, bumps, or rashes may be triggered by plants or sun exposure. Gentle cleansing, cool compresses, and hydrocortisone cream can soothe irritation. Insect stings and bites cause swelling and discomfort. Ice and antihistamines can help. Seek care for trouble breathing, dizziness, or facial swelling.
■ Food allergies may cause hives, stomach upset, or serious reactions. Avoid triggers and carry prescribed medication if needed.
If symptoms are severe, persistent, or disrupt daily life, see a provider. Your Health Plan offers in-person and virtual care options. Learn more at the Find a Provider page.
