Your Health Plan Has You Covered

Whether you’re taking a vacation or traveling for business, here’s how to get the best benefit coverage if you get sick or injured while you’re away from home.

Traveling in the U.S.?

Getting care is easy in all 50 states.

Virtual visits
Have a virtual visit by phone or video with a provider for prescription refills, minor illnesses, allergies, and more—at no cost to you. Request an appointment on the Teladoc app, visit teladochealth.com, or call (800) TELADOC (835-2362).

In-person care
Choose an in-person visit for care that requires a hands-on exam, like a sprained ankle or listening to your lungs. Save money with an Aetna in-network provider.

Search for one on our Find a Provider page.

Traveling outside the U.S.?

Receive medical care from any qualified provider. Pay with a credit card when possible (to document the exchange rate), save detailed receipts in English if available, and submit a claim for reimbursement when you return home.

  • If it’s a life-threatening emergency, go to the nearest emergency room. If admitted, call the number on your ID card as soon as possible.

Be sure to bring your Health Plan ID card with you. If you need a replacement, contact the Fund at (800) 478-1246, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (AK).
